Spanish has a rich rhetorical tradition that shapes political, media, and everyday discourse:

Political rhetoric: Spanish excels in oratory with figures like anaphora, antithesis, and gradation, highly present in Hispanic speeches
Euphemisms: Hispanic culture uses euphemisms extensively (fallecer for morir, dar a luz for parir, tercera edad for vejez)
Dysphemisms: conversely, popular language uses crude terms to shock or create closeness
Inclusive language: the debate over todes/todxs/tod@s stirs the Spanish-speaking world, with the RAE maintaining its position against systematic doubling
Speech acts: in Spanish, saying te prometo or te juro performs the very act of promising — these are performatives
Linguistic taboos: some words change meaning across countries (coger is neutral in Spain but taboo in Argentina)
Connotation and power: the choice between inmigrante/expatriado, manifestación/disturbios reveals ideological positions
