に particle (Location) and あります/います
Location with に
Use に to indicate where something exists:
だいどころに テーブルが あります。 → "There is a table in the kitchen."
にわに ねこが います。 → "There is a cat in the garden."
あります vs います
- あります → for non-living things (table, chair, TV)
- います → for living things (people, animals)
Describing your home
わたしの いえは ちいさいです。 → "My house is small."
へやが みっつ あります。 → "There are three rooms."
Use the pattern: [place]に [thing]が あります/います to describe what is where.

- おうちは どこですか？Where is your home?
- アパートに すんでいますI live in an apartment
- へやが みっつ ありますThere are three rooms
- ひろくて あかるいですIt is spacious and bright
- えきから ちかいですIt is close to the station
- にかいだてですIt is a two-story house
常见错误
だいどころは テーブルがだいどころに テーブルがUse に (not は) for location with あります
テレビが いますテレビが ありますTV is not alive — use あります
へやは みつへやが みっつ ありますUse みっつ (not みつ) and add あります
いえに すみますいえに すんでいますLiving somewhere uses て-form: すんでいます
ちいさな いえですちいさい いえですちいさい is an い-adjective, not な-adjective
