Key verbs for citation: affirmer (to affirm), soutenir (to argue), démontrer (to demonstrate), avancer (to put forward), noter (to note), constater (to observe)
Always attribute ideas to their source to maintain academic integrity and crédibilité.

常见错误
Comme Dupont dit...Comme Dupont l'affirme...Academic French prefers affirmer, soutenir over dire for citations.
D'après à Dupont...D'après Dupont...D'après is directly followed by the name, no preposition needed.
L'auteur cite que...L'auteur affirme que...Citer means to quote, not to state. Use affirmer or soutenir.
Selon les mots de l'auteur...Selon les termes de l'auteur...Academic French uses termes, not mots, for formal attribution.
Le chercheur a trouvé que...Le chercheur a constaté que...Constater is more academic than trouver for research findings.
