用比较级和最高级描述住处

比较几处房子，或者形容自己家，都要用比较级和最高级。

形式回顾

比较级：

  • 短形容词：bigger, smaller, cheaper, older
  • 长形容词：more spacious, more comfortable, more expensive
  • 不规则：better, worse

最高级：

  • 短形容词：the biggest, the smallest, the cheapest
  • 长形容词：the most spacious, the most comfortable
  • 不规则：the best, the worst

选哪一套要看音节数，不能凭感觉。中文不管形容词多长，一个「更」「最」全包了，所以这一步得专门记：more small 是错的，smaller 才对。

描述住处的例句

  • My flat is smaller than my parents' house, but it's more modern. → 我的公寓比我父母家小，但更现代。
  • The kitchen is the biggest room in the flat. → 厨房是这套房子里最大的一间。
  • This is the most comfortable sofa I've ever had! → 这是我用过最舒服的沙发！
  • My new flat is cheaper than the old one, but it's further from work. → 新公寓比原来的便宜，不过离公司更远。

常用的描述说法

  • It's quite spacious / tiny / cosy. → 挺宽敞的 / 很小 / 很温馨。
  • It has a lovely view. → 视野很好。
  • It's on the third floor. → 在英式说法的三楼，也就是中文的四楼（ground floor 才是一楼）。

表达

  • I moved into a new flat last week说自己刚搬进新住处
  • It's cosy and bright形容住处的氛围
  • It's on the second floor说自己住在几楼
  • It has a nice view of the park描述从家里看出去的景色
  • The most comfortable place I've lived in说这是自己住过最舒服的地方
  • It's closer to work比较离公司的远近
  • It needs a bit of work说房子需要装修一下
  • I share a flat with two friends说自己是合租

常见错误

  • My flat is more bigger than yours
    My flat is bigger than yours

    bigger 已经是 big 的比较级，前面不加 more。

  • It's in the second floor
    It's on the second floor

    说楼层用 on，不用 in：on the second floor。

  • It's the more comfortable flat
    It's the most comfortable flat

    长形容词的最高级用 the most，不是 the more。

  • My flat is more small than yours
    My flat is smaller than yours

    small 是单音节短形容词，用 smaller，不用 more small。

  • The kitchen is enough big
    The kitchen is big enough

    enough 放在形容词后面，不放前面。

  • My room has a big window and is very luminous
    My room has a big window and is very bright

    形容房间明亮用 bright，日常英语很少说 luminous。
