There is / There are

英语说某个地方"有"什么东西，用 there is（单数）或 there are（复数）。中文一个"有"字通吃，英语却必须先看后面的东西是一个还是多个。

例： "There is a table in the kitchen." → "厨房里有一张桌子。"

例： "There are two bedrooms in my flat." → "我的公寓里有两间卧室。"

否定形式加 not：

例： "There is not (isn't) a garden." → "没有花园。"

例： "There are not (aren't) any windows." → "没有窗户。"

提问时把 there 和 is/are 调换位置：

例： "Is there a bathroom?" → "有卫生间吗？"

例： "Are there any chairs?" → "有椅子吗？"

地点介词：in、on、at

这三个小词说明东西在哪里，和中文的"在……里／上"并不一一对应，要分开记：

• in = 在……里面

例： "The cat is in the bedroom." → "猫在卧室里。"

• on = 在……表面上，有接触

例： "The book is on the table." → "书在桌子上。"

• at = 在某个点、某个地址

例： "I am at home." → "我在家。"

顺便记一个中式英语的常见坑：中文说"开灯"，英语不是 open the light，而是 turn on the light。open 只用于门、窗、盒子这类真的能打开的东西。
