de arm — arm (de)

Expressing pain: "doet pijn"

Mijn hoofd doet pijn. (My head hurts.)
Mijn rug doet pijn. (My back hurts.)
Compound: hoofdpijn, buikpijn, rugpijn

The diminutive: -je

Dutch uses -je to make things small/cute:

hand — handje (+ je)
voet — voetje (+ je)
oog — oogje (+ je)
oor — oortje (+ tje)
neus — neusje (+ je)

Tip: All diminutives are het-words: het handje, het voetje.

Mijn hoofd doet pijn.My head hurts.
Ik heb pijn in mijn rug.I have pain in my back.
Geef me je handje.Give me your hand. (diminutive)
Doe je ogen dicht.Close your eyes.
Ik heb koude voeten.My feet are cold.

~~Mijn hoofd is pijn.~~
Mijn hoofd doet pijn.
Use "doet pijn" (hurts), not "is pijn".
~~Het handjes~~
De handjes
All plurals are de-words, so it's "de handjes" - never "het handjes". "het" only applies to the singular: het handje.
~~Ik heb pijn in mijn buik.~~
Ik heb buikpijn.
Dutch prefers compound words: buikpijn, hoofdpijn, rugpijn.
~~Het ogen~~
De ogen
"Oog" is a het-word, but the plural "ogen" takes "de" (all plurals are de-words).
