无论…都… (wúlùn… dōu…) — no matter what
Introduces a universal condition:
- 无论你是否喜欢当代艺术，都不得不承认它的影响力。 — No matter whether you like contemporary art or not, you cannot deny its influence.
- 无论作品多么抽象，都有其内在逻辑。 — No matter how abstract the work, it has its own internal logic.
凡是…都… (fánshì… dōu…) — all that… invariably…
Makes a universal generalization:
- 凡是能引发思考的作品，都有其艺术价值。 — All works that provoke thought have artistic value.
- 凡是进过这个展览的人，都深受震撼。 — Everyone who has visited this exhibition has been deeply moved.
不得不 (bùdébù) — have no choice but to
- 面对如此震撼的作品，我不得不重新思考艺术的定义。 — Facing such a powerful work, I have no choice but to rethink the definition of art.
Note: 无论 and 凡是 both introduce universals, but 无论 focuses on conditions ("no matter what") while 凡是 focuses on categories ("all things that").

常见错误
无论喜欢，都应该尊重。无论你是否喜欢，都应该尊重艺术家的努力。无论 introduces a condition that must be complete. A bare 无论+verb without a subject or complement leaves the condition incomplete.
凡是艺术家都是有天赋的。凡是真正的艺术家都经过了长期的训练。凡是…都 makes universal claims — be specific. Saying all artists are talented is an overgeneralization that weakens the argument.
我不得不不喜欢这件作品。我不得不承认这件作品令我不安。不得不 means have no choice but to — it should be followed by a verb expressing the forced action, not a double negation.
无论他来，都没问题。无论他来不来，都没问题。无论 requires an alternative or condition. 无论+verb alone (without 不/否/何 etc.) sounds incomplete.
凡是展览都吸引了很多人。凡是高质量的展览都能吸引大量观众。凡是 generalizes a category — it needs a qualifying adjective or phrase to be meaningful.
