Asking about the weather
- 天气怎么样？— How's the weather?
- 今天天气怎么样？— How's the weather today?
Describing the weather
Use the pattern: Time + Weather condition
- 今天很热。— Today is very hot.
- 明天下雨。— It will rain tomorrow.
- 现在刮风。— It's windy now.
Weather verbs
Some weather words use verbs:
- 下雨 (xià yǔ) — rain falls (lit. "descend rain")
- 下雪 (xià xuě) — snow falls (lit. "descend snow")
- 刮风 (guā fēng) — wind blows
These are verb phrases, not adjectives. Do NOT use 很 with them.
✅ 今天下雨 ❌ 今天很下雨
Temperature
- 今天多少度？— What temperature is it today?
- 今天二十度。— It's 20 degrees today.
- 度 (dù) = degree

- 天气怎么样？Ask about the weather
- 今天很冷。Say it is very cold today
- 明天会下雨吗？Ask if it will rain tomorrow
- 今天多少度？Ask the temperature today
- 我喜欢晴天。Say you like sunny days
- 快下雨了。Say it is about to rain
常见错误
今天很下雨今天下雨Weather verb phrases like 下雨 cannot take 很
天气是热天气很热Use 很 (not 是) before weather adjectives
下雨天气下雨Do not add 天气 after weather verb phrases
今天热天气今天天气很热Put 天气 before the adjective, not after
明天下雨了吗？明天会下雨吗？Use 会 for future events, not 了 which marks completion
