Using Public Transport

Asking about transport

Que autocarro vai para...? → Which bus goes to...?
Onde é a estação de metro? → Where is the metro station?
A que horas parte o comboio? → What time does the train leave?
A que horas chega? → What time does it arrive?

"Ir de" + transport

Use ir de to say how you travel:

Vou de autocarro. → I go by bus.
Vou de metro. → I go by metro.
Vou de comboio. → I go by train.
Vou a pé. → I go on foot.

Tip: "Autocarro" is European Portuguese for bus. In Brazil it's "ônibus." "Comboio" is train — in Brazil it's "trem."
