# Identifying fake news in Korean
Use -(으)ㄹ 수도 있다 (might be possible) to express uncertainty about information:
- 이 기사는 거짓일 수도 있어요. → This article might be false.
-(이)라고 주장하다 (to claim that) signals unverified statements:
- 그는 사실이라고 주장해요. → He claims it's true.
When evaluating credibility, use -인지 아닌지 (whether or not):
- 이게 사실인지 아닌지 확인해 봐야 해요. → We need to check whether this is true or not.
Key questions to ask: 출처가 어디예요? (What is the source?), 다른 매체에서도 보도했나요? (Did other outlets report it?), 날짜가 언제예요? (What is the date?)

Typowe błędy
가짜 뉴스는 퍼졌어요가짜 뉴스가 퍼졌어요Use subject particle 이/가 for new information being introduced, not topic marker 은/는.
확인됐어요 사실이사실이 확인됐어요Korean is verb-final. The subject 사실이 must come before the verb 확인됐어요.
주장했어요 거짓이라고거짓이라고 주장했어요The quoted clause using -(이)라고 must come before the reporting verb.
비판 읽어야 해요비판적으로 읽어야 해요비판 is a noun (criticism). You need the adverb 비판적으로 (critically).
퍼뜨리면 안 돼요 확인 전에확인하기 전에 퍼뜨리면 안 돼요Time clause -기 전에 (before doing) must come before the main clause in Korean.
