Słownictwo

French has two levels of politeness. Use tu with friends and vous with strangers or elders.

Bonjour, monsieur ! — Hello, sir!
Salut, ça va ? — Hey, how are you?

At this stage, learn two key forms:

Je suis Marie. — I am Marie.
Tu es français ? — Are you French?

Always use enchanté (if you are male) or enchantée (if you are female) when meeting someone for the first time.
