"Er is" / "Er zijn" (There is / There are)

Er is + singular: Er is een keuken (There is a kitchen)
Er zijn + plural: Er zijn drie kamers (There are three rooms)

Negative: Er is geen / Er zijn geen

Er is geen tuin (There is no garden)
Er zijn geen ramen (There are no windows)

Prepositions of place

in → in (in de keuken = in the kitchen)
op → on (op de tafel = on the table)
aan → at/on (aan de muur = on the wall)
bij → near (bij het raam = near the window)
naast → next to (naast de deur = next to the door)

Example: "Er is een tafel in de keuken" = There is a table in the kitchen.
Tip: "Huis" is a het-word (het huis), but "kamer" is a de-word (de kamer).
