The と Particle (With/And) and も Particle (Also)
と (to) — "with" or "and"
Use と to connect nouns or say "with someone":
ともだちと あそびます。 → "I hang out with friends."
マリアさんと タロウさん → "Maria and Tarou"
も (mo) — "also" or "too"
Replace は with も to say "also":
わたしは がくせいです。 → "I am a student."
タロウさんも がくせいです。 → "Tarou is also a student."
Talking about what you do together
- いっしょに べんきょうします → study together
- いっしょに ごはんを たべます → eat together
- いっしょに あそびます → hang out together
The word いっしょに (issho ni) means "together" and comes before the verb.

- ともだちが たくさん いますI have many friends
- しんゆうは やさしいですMy best friend is kind

Common mistakes
ともだちを あそびますともだちと あそびますUse と (with) not を (object) for doing things with someone

たのしいでしたたのしかったですPast of い-adjective: remove い, add かった
