Talking About the Weather: fa + adjective / c'è + noun

In Italian, you describe the weather in two main ways, depending on whether you use an adjective or a noun.

Pattern 1: Fa + adjective (using the verb fare):

Pattern 2: C'è / Ci sono + noun (using "there is / there are"):

Pattern 3: Verbs for weather:

• Piove → It's raining (from piovere)
• Nevica → It's snowing (from nevicare)
• Tira vento → It's windy

Asking about the weather:

• Che tempo fa? → What's the weather like?
• Com'è il tempo oggi? → How is the weather today?
• Che tempo fa domani? → What will the weather be like tomorrow?

Temperature:

• Ci sono 30 gradi. → It's 30 degrees.
• La temperatura è di 15 gradi. → The temperature is 15 degrees.

💬 Esempio: "Oggi fa caldo e c'è il sole." → "Today it's hot and sunny."

💬 Esempio: "Domani ci sono le nuvole e fa freddo." → "Tomorrow it will be cloudy and cold."
